About the Pleasant Street Inn

Built in 1885 by Harry and Octavia Sanders, The son of  D T Sanders the first outfitter in the state of Maine—pre-dating L.L.Bean by 60 years – this historic and grand Queen Anne home typifies the New England Inn. Rare Tiger Oak woodwork grace the Foyer, Stairs and Main Parlor. Original paintings and antiques are throughout the house.

The unique Tower Room affords 360-degree views of the village, lake and mountains, and a quiet retreat. Video entertainment, and comfortable furnishings are in the second floor Parlor.

Enjoy a relaxing soak in our Hot Tub after your days activities..

You can also always have a cold refreshment from our butler’s pantry and a home cooked snack. We always include a full hot breakfast every morning with your stay and we can prepare a dinner for you upon request.
The 150-foot wrap-around porch allows you to follow the day and step into another world as you watch float planes land on the lake and the restored SS Katahdin depart for another cruise.
