In Greenville and in the spectacular Moosehead Lake Region, it often seems life is less hectic and the world less crowded. The simple gifts of nature matter most; the sky is a brilliant blue, billions of stars still shine at night and the call of a Loon can be heard rising from the lake. There is a magic here that will pull at you and make you forget the world you left behind, if only for a few days or a week.

We are constantly amazed by all there is to do and see in this area and how close it is to the Inn. Hike mountains, woods and Maine’s “Grand Canyon”, Gulf Hagas with its waterfalls and canyons. The family that built this house ran the famous Sander’s Store which was located at the end of Pleasant Street. The Sanders Store outfitted Henry David Thoreau’s exploration in the area and was a very large part of the community and history of Greenville, Maine.

This still exists today we have Moose Safaris, guided fishing expeditions, White water rafting, Catamaran rides, canoe, kayak, snow shoeing, skiing, hunting, ice fishing and snowmobile rentals
